Marek, tschechischer Komponist, * Prag 28. 4. 1932; war 1965-73 künstlerischer Leiter des Ensembles »Musica Viva Pragensis«, daneben Mitglied der 1967 gegründeten Prager Gruppe »Neue Musik«; 1991 wurde er Professor an Prager Musikakademie. In seine Tonsprache mit differenzierten Klangflächen bezieht er auch sprachliche und gestische Elemente ein.
 
Werke: Eine uralte Geschichte, die die Engel von einer Zeit zur anderen tragen (1979; Singspiel in 6 Szenen, Libretto B. Sobotka).
 
Orchesterwerke: Accords et désaccords für 12 Solisten und Orchester (1968); Sinfonie (1983); Begrüßung/Pozdravení (1984); Appassionato für Klavier und Orchester (1970); Concertino für Englisch Horn und kleines Orchester (1984); Musique concertante (1992; für Violoncello solo, 12 Violoncelli und Orchester).
 
Kammermusik: 5 Streichquartette (1954-80); Stilleben (1968; für Kammerensemble); Intimissimo (1971; für Kammerensemble).
 
Vokalwerke: Black and white tears (1972; für Solostimme); De Passione Sancti Adalberti Martyris (1981; für Chor, Sprecher und Orchester); Agnus dei (1982; für Sopran und Kammerensemble); Messaggio della bontà (1988; für Sopran, Bariton, Kinderchor, gemischten Chor und Orchester).
